Well established as a tuning solution for Stage 1 upgrades like exhaust systems and air intakes, the FP4 Tuner is now ready to embark on a rollout of Stage 2 FP4 maps for Screamin’ Eagle (SE) street legal camshafts.

Available now in the FP4 app, owners of 2021 and later Milwaukee-Eight (M8) 114 cubic inch air-cooled Touring models can select maps for SE Torque and Power camshafts paired with Vance & Hines exhaust and air intake upgrades using the drop down menus for selecting their map.

This initial rollout will be followed by maps for the same camshafts on 114 cubic inch Twin Cooled Touring models as well as 117 cubic inch Touring models for the SE Power camshaft.

M8 Softail models are also planned for map development for these same SE street legal camshafts. In total, the development plan will cover all standard M8 107, 114 and 117 cubic inch engines for Touring and Softail models compatible with the SE Torque and/or Power camshafts.

With its state-of-the-art Bluetooth enabled app-driven technology, FP4 empowers you to do 100% of your tuning from the palm of your hand, all while maintaining 49-state emissions compliance and thereby keeping your Harley-Davidson factory warranty intact. CONGRATULATIONS GAIGE!!!

From a Press Release issued by Suzuki Motor USA, Brea, CA – May 1, 2023
Gaige Herrera extended the perfect start to his breakout rookie season by delivering the Vance & Hines/Mission Suzuki team its second consecutive Pro Stock Motorcycle class win Sunday onboard his Gen III Suzuki Hayabusa at the Circle K NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway in Concord, NC.

Race Highlights
•  Gaige Herrera dominated the weekend by topping qualifying and winning a second straight race in his first career NHRA four-wide race appearance.
•  Eddie Krawiec qualified second to lock out the top two starting spots for the Vance & Hines/Mission Suzuki team and finished in third place.

Under the NHRA’s unique four-wide racing format, the first two motorcycles to cross the finish line, barring a redlight jumpstart, advance to the next round regardless of lane pairing. In the final round four-wide quad, the first motorcycle to cross the finish line wins.

Unfazed by his inexperience in four-wide racing, Herrera displayed more of the speed and poise that have vaulted him to the top of the Pro Stock Motorcycle standings by qualifying number one for the second race in a row with a 6.735 seconds/201.52 mph run on Saturday.

In the first round of eliminations, Herrera won his first-round quad matchup with a strong 6.754-second/201.13 mph run to easily advance past runner-up Kelly Clontz (6.874-seconds/196.04 mph), who also moved to the second round.

Herrera advanced to his second career final round thanks to some luck in the semi-finals after his motorcycle slowed when his kill switch lanyard became detached and shut off the engine near the end of the run. Despite the hiccup, his 6.857-second/170.02 mph run was good enough to advance into the final round along with runner-up Matt Smith (6.916-seconds/194.60 mph).

Continuing his dominance, Herrera blasted to a second straight race win with a hammer-blow 6.71-second/202.00 mph pass that easily covered the other three bikes in the final round quad. Matt Smith finished runner-up with a 6.780-second/199.61 mph run, followed by Krawiec in third (6.784-seconds/199.37 mph) and Steve Johnson (6.810-seconds/197.54 mph) in fourth, capturing the four top finishing positions for Suzuki.

Exuding confidence and calmness that belies his rookie status, Herrera is taking his incredible start to the season in stride. “It’s definitely more than I expected. I’ve got all the confidence in the world in the Vance & Hines/Mission Suzuki team, but as far as me being able to hold my composure and show the results of all the hard work they do back at the shop, it’s a lot to take in.”

Herrera is also adapting to the techniques required to ride a Pro Stock Motorcycle consistently fast. “Every pass has a learning curve. I’m still working on how to make little changes with my body during a run that won’t affect the motorcycle’s elapsed time or top speed. The Gen III Suzuki Hayabusa is a dream to ride, and if I leave the line going straight, I know it’s going to be a good pass. I have one of the best bikes out there, so I’ll try to make it three in a row in Chicago.”
After struggling with an inconsistent performance at the end of the 2022 season, Krawiec has turned a corner with his motorcycle’s performance this season after chasing and fixing some hard-to-diagnose issues.

Capitalizing on improvements made to his Suzuki Hayabusa after the opening round in Gainesville, Krawiec posted a strong 6.765-second/197.77 mph qualifying performance to claim the second starting position.

In the first round, Krawiec staged a come-from-behind win in his quad matchup against Hector Arana, Jr., Ron Tornow, and Angie Smith. He advanced to the second round with a 6.822-second/200.02 mph run, along with runner-up Arana (6.914-seconds/199.55 mph).

Improving on his first-round speed, Krawiec advanced to the finals with a 6.784-second/199.73 mph run to defeat runner-up Steve Johnson (6.806-seconds/198.00 mph).

Krawiec trailed his teammate in the final round, finishing in third place in the quad with a 6.784-second/199.37 mph pass. “We fixed some things on my bike and are running a completely different setup now than last year, so I’ve got to relearn what makes it happy,” Krawiec said. “As we do that, it’ll get better and better. It’s good to have a fast motorcycle and that’s now in view. I’m not looking for it with binoculars anymore.”

Vance & Hines/Mission Suzuki crew chief Andrew Hines praised Herrera’s performance and his perfect start to the season. “Gaige is on fire. He’s a rookie. He’s got nothing to lose and nothing to prove. He just goes out there and races,” Hines said. “We had a lot of time off after Gainesville, a lot of time to go through all our engines and figure out which ones were the best. We brought our two A-game pieces to this race that we knew were ready to go and to be class leaders. The new Gen III Hayabusa body is allowing both riders to make flawless runs, and our Vance & Hines horsepower is shining. These are the two best race bikes we’ve brought to the racetrack in a long time. The clutch tune-up I have in Gaige’s bike is working very well. We’ve just got to adapt the setup on Eddie’s bike a little bit better and we’ll be good to go for Chicago in a few weeks.”

After two of 15 rounds, Herrera and Krawiec currently sit first and third in the Pro Stock Motorcycle standings with 255 and 135 points, respectively.

The Vance & Hines/Mission Suzuki team will be back in action May 19-21 at the Gerber Collision and Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by PEAK Performance at Route 66 Raceway in Elwood, IL.

From a Press Release issued by Suzuki Motor USA, Brea, CA – April 28, 2023

Suzuki Motor USA released a video today featuring an inside look at its partnership with Vance & Hines and the development of Suzuki’s newest entry into the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle class. The video showcases the development of the team’s new Gen3 Hayabusa Pro Stock Motorcycle and what it takes to create a 200+ MPH NHRA Pro Stock drag bike. The new bike debuted this season with a win at the Gatornationals in Gainesville, Florida.

The video takes viewers for a look at this bike’s development from concept renderings of the Gen3 Hayabusa and engineering of the new drag bike body utilizing 3D body scans of a new Hayabusa production model. CAD/CAM software renderings and state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques ensure key Hayabusa design cues are blended with the needs of a successful NHRA Pro Stock drag bike. Featuring six-time NHRA champion and current Vance & Hines crew chief Andrew Hines and four-time NHRA Champion Eddie Krawiec, the viewer gets a behind-the-scenes look at how this incredible machine came to be.

Highlighting key stages of this successful project, the video culminates with the new bike’s domination at its maiden race. Vance & Hines’ rookie phenom Gaige Herrera piloted the bike to the win at the 2023 Gatornationals setting a new track record in the process.

“The development of the new Pro Stock platform has been incredibly rewarding and we couldn’t be prouder of the team for capturing a dominant victory in the bike’s debut,” said Kerry Graeber, Senior Vice President for Suzuki Motor USA, LLC. “We’re looking forward to seeing the continued development of the Hayabusa and showcasing its extraordinary performance capabilities to fans of this legendary motorcycle.”

With Veteran Talent and Championship Credentials

Santa Fe Springs CA – February 13, 2023 – Vance & Hines continues its run at the championship of MotoAmerica’s King of the Bagger series in 2023 with experienced riders and a crew coming off a championship in flat track racing. Both team riders, James Rispoli and Hayden Gillim, have previously ridden for the Vance & Hines/Mission/Harley-Davidson Team.

James Rispoli returns to the team after a strong 2022 season aboard the Harley-Davidson Road Glide. Rispoli earned a second place and a third-place finish in the six-race season, where he frequently diced with factory teams from Harley-Davidson and Indian.

Rispoli has a formidable racing resume in both flat track and road racing.  After winning back-to-back AMA Pro SuperSport championships in the US, Rispoli raced for five years in the prestigious British Superbike championships, then returned to flat track, winning the 2020 AFT Production Twins title in dominant fashion with seven wins aboard a Vance & Hines-built Harley-Davidson XG750R. Rispoli will pilot a Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Road Glide bearing his signature #43 in 2023.

Gillim returns to the Vance & Hines King of the Baggers team after focusing exclusively on Superbike racing in 2022. While rejoining his former team, he’ll have a dramatically improved motorcycle to ride. The switch from Street Glide to Road Glide, along with the competition-driven development on the engine and chassis will give him a better handling and more powerful bike than his previous KOTB ride.

Gillim has racing experience in MotoAmerica, MotoGP, WERA and American Flat Track and has wins or championships in almost every class he’s ever raced. He has a winning pedigree as well. He’s a cousin of Nicky, Roger and Tommy Hayden and hails from racing hotspot, Owensboro, Kentucky.

Vance & Hines puts its top technical team on the KOTB program in 2023. Crew chief Steve Polk has the same tech team that helped Jesse Janisch win the AFT Production Twins championship in 2022. With team manager Craig Koontz and technicians Josh Sutter and Ricky Castro, there’s no doubt that this team knows how to create winning race bikes. Gene Burcham provides suspension expertise at each event on the circuit as well.

The team is sponsored by Mission Foods and uses specialized racing parts from Harley-Davidson.

MotoAmerica, seeing the popularity of the KOTB class increase each year, has expanded the race schedule in 2023 to seven of their ten race weekends. Each of those seven weekends will feature a KOTB double-header, making it a fourteen-race season for the Vance & Hines/Mission/Harley-Davidson team.

“We’re really happy to see interest in the class grow and the increase in the number of races this year,” said Team Manager Craig Koontz. “James, with his strong technical feedback and great riding, was a real asset to the team this past season. Having James and Hayden on the track together is going to be exciting to watch. We’re eager to get to Daytona to see how we stack up against the rest of the field.”

The King of the Bagger series is a racing class showcasing touring-style motorcycles with fairings and saddlebags. KOTB races take place at tracks around the country with the first of the bagger races slated for March 10 at the Daytona International Speedway.

Young Star Added to Team After Impressive Debut in 2022

Santa Fe Springs CA – January 23, 2023 – Vance & Hines today announced the members of the Vance & Hines/Mission/Suzuki NHRA ProStock Motorcycle (PSM) Team, which will feature four-time champion Eddie Krawiec and 29-year-old Gaige Herrera competing for the 2023 championship. The riders will be aboard Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycles. Six-time champion Andrew Hines returns as crew chief in 2023.

Gaige Herrera is a fourth-generation racer who has had success in XDA’s Pro Street and Outlaw racing classes, with race wins in both classes earned over the past several years. Herrera is no stranger to fast bikes, having numerous runs in the 6.30’s over 200 MPH. He is a long time Suzuki rider, holding the record for the fastest Nitrous Suzuki Hayabusa in the country. He’s also familiar with great equipment, since he’s been a customer of Vance & Hines for the past five years.

In 2022, Herrera competed in six NHRA events, his first taste of NHRA PSM racing. He qualified in four of the six races he entered. Herrera impressed the Vance & Hines team when he rode Eddie Krawiec’s Suzuki in a test following the Las Vegas round in October.

“This is such a tremendous opportunity,” said Herrera. “I never expected to get a call with an invitation to join the Vance & Hines team, and when I told my dad (long time drag racing fixture Augustine Herrera), he was as excited as me.”

“We love finding and supporting talented riders,” said Terry Vance, co-founder of Vance & Hines. “We have another guy on the team that we hired before he had ever qualified for an NHRA PSM race. That worked out really well.”

Eddie Krawiec’s success in PSM is unquestioned. A member of the Vance & Hines team since 2007, Krawiec has accumulated 49 NHRA PSM wins and four championships (2008, 2011, 2012, 2017). He was the first member of the team to enter the Denso 200 MPH Club with a current top speed of 203.49 MPH.

“This will be my second year on the Suzuki Hayabusa and I’m ready for a big year for me and for the team,” said Krawiec.

Andrew Hines, a six-time NHRA PSM champion, leads the team as Crew Chief again this year. Andrew is the son of Vance & Hines co-founder Byron Hines and has notched 56 race wins in the PSM class.

“I watched Gaige’s first run at the US Nationals and immediately knew this guy was something special, he’s a long-time Suzuki rider and it was easy to see how confident he was on the bike,” said Andrew Hines. “I can’t wait to help him develop into a championship level rider in PSM on one of our bikes.”

Suzuki continues its partnership with the Vance & Hines team and will have a significant presence at several of the stops on the 2023 schedule. The Suzuki display will host rider autograph signings at most races and Suzuki’s 2023 motorcycles will be on display for race attendees.

“We’re happy to continue our relationship with the Vance & Hines squad for 2023,” said Kerry Graeber, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing at Suzuki.  “We look to continue our shared history of success in NHRA drag racing and welcome Gaige to the team to pilot the legendary Hayabusa ProStock motorcycle alongside Eddie and crew chief Andrew.”

The 2022 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle season begins at the Gatornationals in Gainesville FL March 9-13, 2023. The PSM schedule includes 15 stops in 2023 with the finale at the In-N-Out Burger Finals in Pomona, California.

“Vance & Hines has a heritage of success on the track, and 2022 was a disappointing season for our company and our NHRA PSM Team. While there were successes, like our win in Norwalk Ohio, the seven race weekends that we were the top qualifier and our transition to our redesigned Suzuki powertrain, at Vance & Hines we expect to compete for championships.

“I’ve asked our Crew Chief, Andrew Hines, to do a full assessment of our NHRA racing operation to ensure we are in a position to compete for championships going forward. We owe this to our employees, fans and to our partners at Suzuki and Mission Foods.

“In 2023, we will be parting ways with rider Angelle Sampey, and wish her the best in her future racing endeavors. She’s been an asset to our team for the past three seasons. Angelle is a fan favorite and her personality will be missed.”

Further updates on the team will be announced in advance of the NHRA Gatornationals, the first race of the 2023 NHRA season, which is scheduled for March 9-12, 2023.
